BUSINESS SESSION

ANNOUNCEMENTS
1.        CHARTERING PARTY(Jerry HWANG)
To celebrate Go Getters Toastmasters chartered, CHARTERING PARTY will be held in Ashley’s on the 4th floor in SFUNZ in Hae-un-dae area. The party scheduled to start at 7: 00 pm. All of the members of Area 60 Toastmasters members are warmly welcomed to the party! Come and enjoy!  

2.       MOTION
Jerry Kim GOMEZ moved that Go Getters Toastmasters should fine for the refreshments via Lottery system. It was seconded by Andy KIM, and Fiona.

The motion passed by 8 Ayes, 1 Nay, and 1 abstention.

P.S 1. ACTION: Fiona HAYSOM creates the Lottery for the refreshments.

SUCCESSFUL CLUB SERIES
To celebrate Go Getters chartered help the members, Jerry Kim GOMEZ gave a presentation to every member in the previous meeting about How to Be a Distinguish Club. The presentation was informative and encouraging to set our goals.

The General Evaluator, Jerry Kim GOMEZ said,
The meeting started on time even though our Sergeant at Arm, Scarlet OH, who is always punctual, was absent in the meeting. He suggested a big applause for ourselves because we did everything great!

P.S. We need a headcount for two meetings on 27th December, and 3rd January, 2012 whether every Go Getters is available on the days or not.

The meeting started on time: 7:45PM. The Toastmaster of the evening was Jerry HWANG and it was his first time as Toastmaster. He did such a wonderful job!

BUSINESS SESSION

ANNOUNCEMENTS
1.         OFFICERS TRAINING(Jerry HWANG)
It appears that Officers Training might be on January 13, 2012 because a lot of Toastmasters will have to deal with final exams between today and December 20. After that, most people will be on vacation and will not be back until January 8, 2012. This is why January 13, 2012 is the most likely date. When we have a venue secured, we will make the announcement.


2.        CHARTERING PARTY(Jerry HWANG)
It is that time when we have to decide the date for our Chartering Party. This will be an open discussion, no more than 5 minutes.


3.       REPRESHMENTS(Jerry HWANG)
We need to come up with a way to collect money to pay for the refreshments that we enjoy every week. Please be prepared to make a motion next week.
SUGGESTION: Fiona HAYSOM suggested that we have a rule that the one who wins Listening Game by Listener doesn’t have to pay the fine for the refreshments.

4.       MOTION
Fiona moved that the date of the Chartering Party be Tuesday December 13, 2011 from 7:00pm to 9:30pm and it was seconded by Jerry Kim GOMEZ, Hong-Jun LEE, and Andy KIM.

The motion passed by 6 Ayes, 1 Nay, and 4 abstentions.

P.S Sang-Je KIM is the formal committee to decide the venue for Chartering Party.

Table Topics speakers who speak under 1 minute or over 2 minutes are not eligible for the Best Table Topics Speaker Award.

 The Table Topics Master of the day was Eugene KIM. She prepared a few questions. And she prepared a session where she would announce the topic, and then called Toastmasters up to the stage to answer.

The meeting started on time as always and Evaluation team on the day took their roles successfully.
Eugene Kim took a role for the first time as Table Topics Master and finished it well.
Jin-Bog PARK was on the stage to make his first speech in Table Topics Session. Every member of Go Getters was so proud of him.

BUSINESS SESSION

ANNOUNCEMENTS
1.         The Membership Training that was planned after Catrijn’s Corner is cancelled because all resorts in the area are booked. Instead, we will be meeting with Toastmasters Tuesday for dinner at Brunch Market in Suncheon at 5PM. If you are still interested, please be in Suncheon by 4:45PM and take a taxi to the “Brunch Market.” The Taxi drivers know where it is.

The last bus for Busan from Suncheon is at 9PM, so if you want to go, you will need to make your own arrangements for lodging and accommodations, and take the bus back on Sunday.

2.        OFFICERS TRAINING(Jerry HWANG)
Officer Training will have to be postponed to a later date due to a scheduling conflict at PNU. The university needed the rooms that we reserved for that day. Since we are not affiliated with the University, we do not get priority. The rescheduled date will be announced soon.

3.       TRESURERS ELECTION AND VPPR REPLACEMENT
In a previous meeting, Go Getters members took Marie CHUNG on the nominee list. Unlike every member’s expectation, Marie wanted the new fellow member, Eugene KIM, to be in charge of the job. Eugene accepted it, all members in the meeting casted the votes for the new Treasurer Election, and she was elected as the Treasurer for Go Getters Toastmasters. Congratulations!

Sad news, our formal VPPR, Evelyn GO, has found a job which clashes with GGTM’s schedule. She had to step down as VPPR. So Go Getters had a replacement election for the position. Most of the members suggested that Sang-Je be the new VPPR. Sang-je accepted it, all members casted the votes with hands, and Sang-Je was elected as the new VPPR unanimously! Congratulations!

The meeting started on time by the Sergeant at Arms banging the Gavel as usual.
And every member of the evaluation team on the day did great jobs.
Suggestions, all the members need to keep applauding until the speakers reach their seats. Plus, Toastmaster for every meeting shouldn’t forget to lead applause.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
1.         CATRIJIN’S CORNER, Saturday, November 26, 2011(Jerry HWANG)
Area 60 and possibly Area 70 will have a Toastmasters MT Event after Catrijin’s Corner. And the admission fee will be 2000won. If anyone wants to chair the TMMT after the play, contact Jerry Kim GOMEZ and he will help to arrange everything. Plus, all members in favor of joining TMMT will get on the bus to Suncheon around 2 to take a look around and feel at ease into the city. One of the members, Fiona HAYSOM encouraged all GGTM members to join the event because there will be opportunities to meet the other club’s members like the Conference. 

2.        OFFICERS TRAINING(Jerry HWANG)
On December 3rd, all the newly elected Area 60 Officers will be trained. All members are welcomed. Also Area 70 will be joining us as well along with other Toastmasters in Korea, maybe. So mark your calendar and learn about servant leadership.

3.        Go Getters Club Chartering by End of NOVEMBER(Fiona HAYSOM)
Go Getters has 4 more members to chartering and all current Go Getters members need to make it by end of the month.

4.   In the next meeting, there is an election for the new Treasurer. The nominee for the position is Marie CHUNG.

MOCK MOTION
Jerry Kim GOMEZ moved that Go Getters Toastmasters club have a theme song like in professional wrestling, and it was seconded by Evelyn Go, Fiona HAYSOM, and Scarlet OH.

Saying casually and informally in the meeting and ‘Thank you’ at the end of the speech looks unprofessional. Never recommended.
